Our Story

We packed up the lives we knew and left home dreaming of larger ones,
not quite knowing what those dreams had in store for us.
One January morning in New York, a flight landed early and another was running late.
Amidst the longest layover of our lives began our greatest adventure.

Looking back, those days come back in flashes, like scenes from a movie,
where the characters become fast friends,
wandering unfamiliar streets, each one somehow a walk to remember,
while conversations go on and on as the earth keeps turning.
They share their hopes, burdens, and everything in between.
Who knew one person could make you feel light as a feather
and still be the anchor that keeps you from floating away?

The second act of this movie is where the plot thickens.
Life came at us quickly, dressed in graduation gowns and shiny new careers.
Our futures were taking shape in front of us, and for a while, that was all we could see.
Meanwhile, the airport where we first met was turning into the scene of our hardest goodbyes.

Distance, devastating as it was, came bearing gifts of its own.
It made us choose, again and again, something that had always come so easily.
We started measuring time by the next flight, the next holiday, the next place we could find each other.
We climbed mountains together while learning to scale the distance,
and somehow, every mile between us only pulled us closer.

The families came together as our Tamil and Punjabi roots intertwined.
Where language fell short, love seemed to translate.
By then, we already knew a thing or two about bridging the space between two states.

One August afternoon in Hawaii, another chance encounter led us to a secret garden.
Someone finally popped the question,
and we stopped being characters in the movie.
We picked up the pen ourselves
and wrote our way into forever.

  • Indira Gandhi International (DEL) — roughly 35 km, about 60–80 minutes by road. All three terminals are convenient.
  • Book app cabs from the official pickup bays, or a prepaid taxi from the arrivals counter.
  • We will be arranging transport between Delhi airport and the resort, and back again. Details will follow closer to the date — please do let us know in your RSVP if you would like to use it.

By Rail

Coming by train

  • New Delhi (NDLS) — approximately 25 km, and the best connected of the options.
  • Delhi Cantt / Anand Vihar — good alternatives, depending on where you are travelling from.
  • Bahadurgarh (BGZ) — the closest at roughly 12 km, though fewer trains stop here.
  • We would suggest booking early — mid-November is peak wedding season and trains fill up weeks in advance.

  • From central Delhi: Punjabi Bagh → Peeragarhi → Mundka, about 45 min off-peak.

  • Direct flights from Delhi take roughly three and a half hours, and the airport is well connected from most major cities.

By Rail & Road

  • Driving in, take the Sathyamangalam Road / NH-948 stretch towards Saravanampatti.

Before You Come

Prepare for the celebration

Late November is Delhi at its finest — bright, dry afternoons and cold evenings once the sun goes down. Do pack for both, and for a Coimbatore that will be considerably warmer.

What to Pack

The essentials

  • Six outfits, if you plan to join us for every event. The dress codes are listed with each one above.
  • A shawl, stole or jacket — the lawns turn genuinely cold once the sun sets.
  • Flat or block-heeled shoes, as most ceremonies are held on grass.
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses for the Haldi and the morning muhurtham.
  • For the Haldi, something you would not mind staining.
  • Something lighter for Coimbatore on the 25th — cotton travels well, and it stays warm there through November.

Delhi in November

Travelling in winter

  • Mornings can be foggy, so please allow extra time if you are driving in from another city.
  • Winter fog occasionally delays flights and trains into Delhi. If you are able to, we would suggest arriving a day early.

Everything Else

Good to know

  • All Delhi events are on the resort grounds, so there is no travel between them.
  • Meals are vegetarian throughout. Jain and vegan options are available on request — just mention it in your RSVP.
  • Your presence is the greatest gift; nothing more is expected.
